About ACM - Student Chapter
Welcome to the Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT) Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Founded on March 24, 2023, by Ms. Jamuna S Murthy, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The RIT ACM Student Chapter stands as a vibrant community dedicated to advancing computing knowledge, fostering innovation, and building a collaborative space for students with a passion for technology. Officially recognized under Group ID: 192244, we are proud to be an active chapter within ACM, the worlds largest computing society.
Our Journey
Our journey began on March 9, 2023, as a pre-prospective chapter, rapidly advancing to prospective status on March 15, 2023, before being formally chartered on March 24, 2023. Since then, we have committed ourselves to providing high-quality resources, professional development opportunities, and a supportive environment that nurtures both academic and practical skills in computing.
Our Mission
The RIT ACM Student Chapter aims to empower students by bridging academic learning with real-world applications. Our mission is to inspire curiosity, foster collaboration, and encourage leadership within the computing community, providing a platform for students to connect with industry experts, participate in hands-on projects, and stay updated on the latest advancements in the field.
Activities and Opportunities
We host regular workshops, coding competitions, guest lectures, and technical seminars that cover a broad spectrum of computing fields, from artificial intelligence and machine learning to cybersecurity and data science. Our members gain access to exclusive ACM resources, networking opportunities, and career development tools that help them grow personally and professionally.
